What’s More Romantic Than High Tea At Hong Kong’s Peninsula Hotel?
Invigorating tea, silver tea service, egg-shell thin bone china tea cups, cucumber finger sandwiches and breathtaking views is what your money will buy for afternoon tea at Hong Kong’s 5-star, Peninsula Hotel. Afternoon teas still thrive in Hong Kong despite Britain’s leaving with queues developing an hour before tea time.
The Peninsula Hotel is Hong Kong’s oldest hotel, opening in December of 1928, and claims to be the first to offer afternoon tea. The tea service is kept very traditional and the buttery scones are made from a recipe that has remained the same for over half a century.
To me getting ‘dressed up’ and attending a tea with my beau would be reminiscent of a little girl’s tea party. The elegance and atmosphere would definitely put me in a romantic mood. If I some day get to Hong Kong, high tea will definitely be on my to-do list!
How about you? Do you find afternoon teas romantic? Have you ever been to an afternoon tea?
